  • The Fox Valley Data Exchange is a newly launched, free online platform designed to improve access to reliable, up-to-date public data across Calumet, Outagamie, and Winnebago Counties.
  • It evolved from the Fox Cities LIFE Study (founded in 2001), which historically guided community initiatives based on identified needs, such as creating Catalpa Health and the STAR program.
  • The Exchange was built after extensive collaboration, including surveys of 40+ organizations and benchmarking 30 other data exchanges across the U.S., to ensure it will be an effective solution for meeting local needs.
  • The site hosts 100+ community metrics from 32 public and private data sources, updated automatically, allowing users to explore trends by county, city, ZIP code, or census tract level.
  • Focused on the seven Vital Conditions for Wellbeing, the website provides actionable insights into housing, health, environment, economy and more—helping community partners proactively address quality of life.
  • The platform promotes transparency, collaboration, and cost efficiency, allowing nonprofits, educators, public agencies, and businesses to download ready-made charts for grants, planning, or policy development.
  • Initial funding and leadership come from major community organizations, including the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, United Way Fox Cities, Thrivent, ThedaCare, and Lawrence University, with continued support sought for expansion.
