- The Fox Valley Data Exchange is a new, free, “one-stop shop” data platform for Calumet, Outagamie, and Winnebago counties, created to spur collaboration and innovation among nonprofits, government, and businesses.
- It launched after more than four years of work and builds on 20+ years of the Fox Cities LIFE Study, evolving from static reports (“MapQuest”) to a dynamic tool (like GPS on your smartphone) with automatic updates and tools to filter, map, and visualize data through charts and tables.
- Designed with input from 44 agencies, the platform is easy to use and update, can incorporate local data and lets users drill down to census-tract level to pinpoint community investment opportunities.
- The Exchange aggregates data from 30+ sources into 100+ metrics organized around the Seven Vital Conditions for Wellbeing:
- Belonging and civic muscle
- Basic needs for health and safety
- Thriving natural world
- Lifelong learning
- Humane housing
- Meaningful work and wealth
- Reliable transportation
- Early adoption includes organizations like Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity, which used the tool to choose a Rock the Block neighborhood
